  • Monthly Treasurer’s Report (Posted?)
  • Reconsideration of more prompt dues payment requirements.  Cannot restrict unpaid members from getting CE credit.
  • Status of provisions for electronic dues payment. Larry: PayPal accounts available for non-profits for free (+1.5% donation from them)

Education Coordinator Report (Charlie Reiman, Education Coordinator with Dennis Cole and Dick Alton)

NYSAHI Report (Tom Ott & Larry Ames 2021-22 STAHI Representatives)

  • Meeting held by Zoom 10/11
  • 2023 Officers unanimously approved by vote: Henrey Jetty, President; Larry Ames, Secretary; Mitchell Allen, Treasurer.  Current President, Ross Relyea was approved to continue to serve on the Board as an unaffiliated representative from Central New York. 
  • Looking for more Board Members, Need reps from North Country, Capitol Area, Downstate.
  • Pending NYS radon legislation:  NYS Assemblyperson Donna Lupardo’s staff has sent an update following receipt last month of letters of concern from NYSAHI.   “We have been in touch with DOH and they are in the process of getting an update from their Environmental Bureau and we will let you know once we receive their response.”  
  • Continuing efforts to reengage LIASHI, Metro ASHI, and MAHI. NYSAHI reps met with LIASHI, Metro ASHI. Meeting was positive and they seemed on board with supporting NYSAHI, but both organizations are presently financially weak.  NYSAHI looking to approach their members directly for their support.
  • Exploring sponsorships and already have one national company interested.

Old Business

  • Corona Virus Conditions – CDC Risk by County

In Broome/Tioga County, New York, community level is Medium.

  • If you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions
  • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines
  • Get tested if you have symptoms
  • Continuing Call for new CE Opportunities from Members: Mini Subjects, Allied Trades & Professions (Thanks Jamie!!), Show N Tell Submissions.  Larry has extended an invitation to a product rep from Kidde to talk about their product line and their more advanced new detector/alarm products.  Maybe November.
  • President Requested Officers (including Ed Comm Chair) to prepare list of “Duties” with step-wise instructions for YourCE, Zoom, Website, etc. (Please get this done)  – Larry’s Example
  • Larry is working on a December Dinner Meeting with a reasonably priced buffet (Prime Rib/Turkey?)  – Quarterly Social Event (Please bring spouse/ SOs – adults only please).  Likely earlier in the month and will try for a Tuesday evening (much competition during holidays).  How many interested??
