The Southern Tier Association of Home Inspectors (STAHI), founded in 2005 and reorganized as a Chapter of NYSAHI in 2025, continues to serve NYS-licensed Home Inspectors by offering regular meetings for local/regional sharing of information and collegiality.  STAHI is a joint NYSAHI/STAHI experimental initiative in development. In this pilot-plan, STAHI functions to furnish the essential in-person component of professional affiliation that is difficult for the host association to otherwise foster statewide. NYSAHI provides for and frees the Chapter from the burdensome organizational, administrative, and financial infrastructure of an independent association, leaving it to function more informally and with much less cost in dollars and volunteer manpower.  The Chapter importantly also provides a platform for raising regional issues affecting our profession through its direct channel to the Board of its Statewide host.  Escalated matters would be deliberated further and addressed accordingly at the State level by NYSAHI. 

STAHI Membership

Any NYS licensed Home Inspector is welcome and encouraged to attend our meetings.  The only requirement for STAHI Membership is to be a NYSAHI Member in good standing and attend meetings.  Chapter decisions and directions are made in meetings by the majority of those Chapter members attending.  This includes selection annually of a Chapter Leader who serves as the primary liaison to NYSAHI Board.
