There was a discussion amongst the members in the last meeting regarding a couple of issues that we were not certain about:
- We were discussing the acceptable levels of lead in the water. Here is some clarification from Larry Ames and Tom Sherman on the issue.
According to the EPA and info from a current Microbac report, these are the actionable and reporting limits:
Lead
Testing Methodology: EPA 200.8, RV 5.4
Reporting Limit: 0.0010 mg/L (lowest level to be reported using this method)
US EPA Action Level: 0.015 mg/L
More info on it can be found at the link:

2. Discussion regarding whether the gray SCH40 PVC pipe can be used on DWV / drainage systems since Tom believed that the grey pipe has not been pressure tested and might not have been approved for that purpose. I found one manufacturer that makes the gray pipe and claims it is approved for drainage systems, stating that it is a pressure pipe and meets all CSA and ASTM requirements if I read it correctly. Good find, Frank! The lack of pressure testing done on electrical conduit is the issue at hand. If there are markings on the pipe indicating the piping was pressure tested, good to go! Thanks for the follow up!
